| | Storyline: | | Sauron's forces have laid siege to Minas Tirith, the capital of Gondor, in their efforts to eliminate the race of men. The once-great kingdom, watched over by a fading steward, has never been in more desperate need of its king. But can Aragorn (Mortensen) answer the call of his heritage and become what he was born to be? In no small measure, the fate of Middle-earth rests on his broad shoulders. With the final battle joined and the legions of darkness gathering, Gandalf (McKellen) urgently tries to rally Gondor's broken army to action. He is aided by Rohan's King Theoden (Hill), who unites his warriors for history's biggest test. Yet even with their courage and passionate loyalty, the forces of men--with Eowyn (Otto) and Merry (Monaghan) hidden among them--are no match for the enemies swarming against Gondor. Still, in the face of great losses, they charge forward into the battle of their lifetimes, tied together by their singular goal to keep Sauron distracted and give the Ring Bearer a chance to complete his quest. Their hopes rest with Frodo (Wood), a tiny but determined hobbit making a perilous trip across treacherous enemy lands to cast the One Ring into the fires of Mount Doom. The closer Frodo gets to his final destination, the heavier his burden becomes and the more he must rely on Samwise Gamgee (Astin). Gollum-and the Ring itself-will test Frodo's allegiances and, ultimately, his humanity. "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" concludes the epic story of these characters, their relationships and rivalries, and reveals how through courage, commitment and determination even the least of us can change the world. |

| | This is the best movie ever!! Peter Jackson (and his crew) did a great job bringing it to the screen. I forgive Peter for deleting some scenes from the book, because I know he did it for a reason. You can't find a bigger fan of the books, than Peter; so anyone who hates him for deleting some stuff should read the books and realise that it's impossible to film it all. What Peter made of it is absolutely great. I have so much respect for him! | | This text refers to the Lord of the Rings - Return of the King (Wide Screen Edition) DVD Region 1 Edition |

| | This film is AMAZING. Peter Jackson is a great director.Even though i am slightly sore about the lack of keeping to the book, the film is overall a great production and i have no doubt that he did it to the best of his ability.I am very glad he undertook this task,or some other producer would have done it,and i know they wouldent have done such a good job. | | This text refers to the Lord of the Rings: Return of the King Theatrical Edition |

| | Guess what everybody??? Jackson not only left out the scouring of the shire from the theatrical version but is also going to leave it out from the dvd. He just ruined a great ending. Anyone who read the book should be as pist as I am. I thought this scene essential to the conclusion but apparently Jackson thought it was bull. I am very disappointed at him for trying to cram all of the Return of the King plus the end of the Two Towers which he left out into one movie. They were like that for a reason in the books. All I have to say is that the rest of the movie better make up for the difference. Oh, and one more thing, the houses of healing and the fight between saruman and wormtongue wont be in the movie either, but at least he had enough sense to put them in the extended version. | | This text refers to the Lord of the Rings: Return of the King Theatrical Edition |

| Well I was privileged to see ROTK today, and I have a two word review- a treasure. | | This text refers to the Lord of the Rings: Return of the King Theatrical Edition |
|
| | | | The Return of the King is going to be the greatest lotr movie. rotk is estimated to be about 3 and a half hours. The first two weeks of December in select theaters will be playing both the fellowship and the two towers theatrical versions and extended versions.(this is not false info.)The rotk theatrical trailer began on the 26 of September, im not sure when the teaser started but it is attached to Matrix Revolutions and i think elf. The rotk game was avalibe on Nov.5 to the public, which shows cuts from the rotk, the ttt,& fotr. I cant wait until December 17. I think the Battle of the Pelennor Fields is going to be great, its the batlle between the armies of Sauron, composed of 30,000 Haradrim and a great number of easterlings, variages of orcs lead by the lord of the nazgul, against the forces of Minas Tirith aided by 3,000 to 4,000 men from the southern fiefs the forces of Osgiliath and Ithilien and 6,000 riders of Rohan. All in all the Rotk will be yhr greatest movie of all time.:> | | This text refers to the Lord of the Rings: Return of the King Theatrical Edition |

| | words cant express the feelings i recieve when reading the book. I shiver when i think about this movie. It better be longer than 3 hours because if Peter Jackson(the genius he is) screws it up by cramming it together, everyone and not me will be pissed as hell and will never forgive for screwing up the best story evertold on earth. | | This text refers to the Lord of the Rings: Return of the King Theatrical Edition |
|
| | | | This movie should most definitly be over 3 hours. there is still alot more to be shown. This movie will probably be the best movie of this generation and anyother generation. Hopefully it will get the oscar instead of being screwed out of it like the first two. | | This text refers to the Lord of the Rings - Return of the King Theatrical Edition |

| | ROTK is gonna blow the othr two movies away. It will be hands down the best movie ever made. I agree though, if Jackson screws this up, every LOTR fan will be let down, because this is the event of the century | | This text refers to the Lord of the Rings - Return of the King Theatrical Edition |

| | I just hope Peter Jackson does not mess this one up like he did The Two Towers. Don't get me wrong, I love the movies. But TFOTR followed the book much better than TTT. I really wanted to see the Saruman VS Gandalf at the tower of Orthanc. But I guess Jackson will have to fit half of TTT into ROTK. | | This text refers to the Lord of the Rings - Return of the King Theatrical Edition |

| | | I can't wait. Aragorn has always been and will always be my favorite character. It will have to be longer than three hours, though-- they have two major battle sequences, Shelob's lair, and Mount Doom to fit in (amongst other things). Oh, by the way, the release date is Wednesday December 17, 2003. | | This text refers to the Lord of the Rings - Return of the King Theatrical Edition |
